William C. Dill

William C. Dill of Chincoteague, VA died Friday January 18, 2008 at Coastal Hospice at the Lakes at Deer s Head in Salisbury, MD. He was 73. Born on April 9, 1934 in Centreville, MD to the late, Robert D. Dill, Sr. and Stella R. Russum Dill. He attended school in Queen Anne s County until joining the National Guard in 1952. When he came out of the National Guard, in 1960, he married Helen M. Short and they resided in Centreville. In 1958, Mr. Dill began working for the town of Centreville as an electrician. In 1982, he worked for J. Noble Hardesty until it closed. Mr. Dill then established Dills Burner Service. In 1993, his wife, Helen, predeceased him. At that time, he took over her position as a school bus driver, until 1998, when he retired. On January 30, 2000, he married Martha L. Thawley Neighbors and they resided in Chincoteague, VA. Mr. Dill was active with the Queen Anne s County Jaycee s and was a member of the Easton Moose Lodge. He also enjoyed hunting, antique cars and loved living in Chincoteague, VA. Mr. Dill is survived by two daughters, Terrie Jarrell and her husband Steve of Centreville and Tammie E. Lane and her husband Ray of Queenstown, two step sons, Glenn Neighbors and his wife Trina of Grasonville and Dale Neighbors of Richmond, VA; two sisters, Gladys Whitby of Centreville and Pearle Starkey of Queenstown; four grandchildren, Gregory Jarrell and his fianc e Holly Collins, Mark Jarrell, Lauren Karwacki, and Michael Karwacki; and two step grandchildren, Elizabeth and Catherine Neighbors. He was predeceased by two brothers; Robert Dill and James Dill and two sisters Myrtle Schweitzer and Madeline Stafford. Funeral service will be held 11AM on Wednesday January 23, 2008 at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P. A. in Centreville, MD. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Easton, MD. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 from 6PM to 8PM.
