Vivien Gabriela Portugal Romero

Vivien Portugal was born in Cuzco, Peru, to Magda Romero and Jesualdo Portugal. She was a beloved daughter, wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend whose life was defined by unwavering faith, generous service, and love for her family and community. Vivien was raised alongside her sisters, Sandra and Geraldine. She had a brother, Danilo, in Peru. She shared a special bond with her niece, Adryena, and her nephew, Nestor, whom she loved as her own. A dedicated student with a passion for learning, Vivien graduated from the National University of San Agustín in Arequipa, Peru, where she earned her master's degree in accounting. Her education laid the foundation for a life marked by diligence, integrity, and professional excellence. In 2010, Vivien married the love of her life, Alfredo, and together they made their home in Easton, Maryland. United by their shared dreams and entrepreneurial spirit, they established El Dorado, a beloved Hispanic restaurant that became a gathering place for family, friends, and the local community. As owner and manager, Vivien devoted herself to her work with warmth, hospitality, and kindness until her passing. Vivien had a deep appreciation for God's creation and cherished the opportunity to travel the world. Her journeys took her to Italy, France, Spain, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, Peru, and Mexico. Among all her travels, the most meaningful were her pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where her Marian devotion was profoundly strengthened, and a memorable trip to Colorado shared with her beloved husband, Alfredo. Above all else, Vivien's life was rooted in her Catholic faith. A faithful and active parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Easton, she generously dedicated her time and talents to the formation of the Hispanic Catholic community. Through her service, she inspired others to grow in faith, fostering unity, prayer, and love within the parish. Vivien will be remembered for her compassionate heart, gentle spirit, generous hospitality, and unwavering trust in God's providence. Vivien is survived by her devoted husband; her parents; her sisters; her brothers-in-law, Nestor and Bobby; her brother; and her beloved niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Milagros. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 200 S. Harrison Street, Easton. Visitation will continue on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1210 S. Washington Street, Easton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation.
