Virginia R. Good

CUMBERLAND HEAD (PLATTSBURGH), NY & PASADENA, MD Virginia Ruth (Barnard) Good, age 80, died peacefully in Annapolis Maryland the morning of December 6th, 2007. While she would have preferred to be in her home on Lake Champlain, she was near her son, who lovingly attended to her every need. She was born in Dayton, PA, in the Village of Barnards on May 1st, 1927. Virginia (to her parents) but Ginnie to her husband, family and friends, was the daughter of Barton Hastings and Hazel Agnes (Clowes) Barnard and the sister of Barton Wayne Barnard and Hazel Isabelle Barnard Logan. Ginnie was the beloved wife of Kenneth Franklin Good, who predeceased her on June 6th, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Kim Good, of Brunswick, ME, her son, Kevin Neil Good of Pasadena, MD, and her sister, Isabelle, of Dayton, PA, and sister-in-law, Betty Barnard of East Liverpool, Ohio. Her mother was her first teacher, at the Barnard one room school in Barnard Village, PA. She went on to finish high school at the Dayton Vocational and then earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Ashland College in Ohio. She met and later married Ken in Harrisburg, PA. They followed Ken’s jobs all over and Ginnie became a master homemaker and family rock through moves from Pennsylvania to England, to Arizona, to the top of Maine, then a final move for the couple to Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, NY. The last few years of her life, Ginnie split her time between NY and her son’s home in Maryland. Those who knew her well, knew she had a special fondness for the time she and her family lived at Fallow Corner, the thatched house in Little Bardfield, East Anglia, England. It will always be a special place to her family. A Funeral Service will be held at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Cremation and Funeral Care, P.A., 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A private entombment will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607-1460
