Trenwith Rockwell Ward

Trenwith Rockwell Ward, age 81, passed away on November 11, 2022 at his home on the Eastern Shore. He was born on November 30, 1940, in Illinois, the son of Rockwell B. Ward and Ann (Reynolds) Ward. Tren grew up in a beachfront home along the Long Island sound near Clinton, Connecticut. Growing up, he loved to sail his boats and tinker with cars and other electronics. He attended Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts for high school and would spend summers and holidays between his parents' homes. After his father’s death, Tren’s stepmother Kathleen Ward remained an important part of his life even moving herself and Tren’s sisters to Washington, DC, to be closer to Tren during his plebe year at the US Naval Academy. Upon graduation from the US Naval Academy, he was eventually stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, where he met Priscilla Cox. Tren served three tours in Vietnam and after leaving the Navy decided to return to the Annapolis area to work. For most of his career, he was an engineer with the Whalen Company in Easton, MD. Tren was an accomplished engineer and craftsman. He built and raced his own sailboat. He was a very good carpenter. After retirement, Tren volunteered to help people with their tax returns through AARP. He was active in The Lions Club and loved the Wings and Wheels events. Tren and Priscilla loved teaching Sunday school at Kent Island United Methodist Church. Tren would also help his wife with her baby basket ministry. Tren was always willing to help his friends, family, and church members with any project. Tren and Priscilla were able to travel many places during their retirement, visiting sites they had long read and dreamed about. Tren and Priscilla adored their four grandsons and were very proud of their accomplishments. In addition to his parents, Tren is also predeceased by his wife, Priscilla Ward; son, David Rockwell Ward; his stepmother, Kathleen (Mi- Mi) Ward; and his nephew, Keith Paquin. Tren is survived by his daughter, Jennifer L. Ward Treff; his son, Matthew R. Ward; his son-in-law, Gregory A. Treff; his daughter-in-law, Sherri Ward; his four grandsons, David Ralph Treff, Ryan Nathaniel Ward, Benjamin Gregory Treff, Jacob Harrison Ward; his sisters, Sherrie Ward and Andrea Ward Stanley; his nephews, Todd Paquin, Greg Paquin, Sandy Forbes; and his nieces, Kelley R. Murphy and Robin Spittler. A memorial service will be held at Kent Island United Methodist Church in Chester, MD, on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 11AM.
