Thomas Randolph Jaggard

Thomas Randolph Jaggard of Chestertown, MD, died on Saturday, December 7, 2002, at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He was 63 years old. Born in Camden, NJ, on October 3, 1939, he is the son of the late John K. Jaggard and Margaret Potter Clinger Harris of Chestertown, MD. Mr. Jaggard graduated from Haddonfield High School Class of 1957; he then attended Rutgers University in Camden, NJ. Mr. Jaggard received his Bachelor's of Science from Philadelphia College and furthered his education at Philadelphia College earning accreditation as a Registered Pharmacist. Mr. Jaggard practiced at Palmyra Pharmacy in Palmyra, NJ, and later Mainline Pharmacy in Cinnaminson, NJ. In 1966, he purchased Marlton Pharmacy in Marlton, NJ. Mr. Jaggard sold his business in 1981, and moved to Kent County, MD, to begin farming. Mr. Jaggard worked as a pharmacist at Kent & Queen Anne’s Hospital in Chestertown and, in November 1990, he purchased Denton Pharmacy in Denton, MD. Mr. Jaggard was married to Joan B. Jaggard of Haddonfield, NJ. He enjoyed dabbling in real estate and his hobbies included hunting, fishing and playing tennis at the Elkton Indoor Tennis Club and at Washington College. Mr. Jaggard was a member of the National Rifle Association. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Linda Leary of Rock Hall, MD; two sons, Glen R. Jaggard of Southampton, NJ, and Alan E. Jaggard of Tabernacle, NJ; and seven grandchildren, Megan and Tyler Leary of Rock Hall, MD, Joshua and Steven Jaggard of Brooklyn, OH, Dylan and Hailey Jaggard of Southampton, NJ, and Brendan Jaggard of Tabernacle, NJ. He is also survived by his former wife, Joan B. Jaggard. One son, Richard T. Jaggard, preceded him in death on February 15, 1996. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. from Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P. A., 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, MD. Relatives and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (two hours prior to the service). Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cardiac Rehabilitation Center, C/O Kent & Queen Anne’s Hospital, Inc., 100 Brown Street, Chestertown, MD 21620
