Nathalie Tyvolia Henry

Nathalie Tyvolia Henry also known as “Natsy” or “Nat” of Chestertown, MD transitioned to her eternal rest on December 11, 2023. She was 79 years old. She was born in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland, on January 19, 1944, the daughter of Ida Virginia Beck and William Brown. She was raised by her stepfather, the late Marcellus Beck, and her mother in Queen Anne’s County, attending local schools and graduating from Kennard High School with the class of 1961. She began working for Vita Foods Company, later working for Control Switch and then Technitrol Inc. before her retirement in 2003. Nathalie was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, especially for family holiday gatherings. She was known for her "potato salad”. Additionally, she enjoyed spending time nurturing and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren (to whom she was known as Candylady). She was an avid storyteller and had an infectious laugh as she recalled the mischievous adventures of her childhood. She was a listener and was willing to give advice when needed. Nathalie was active in church and in earlier years attended Boyer's Chapel United Methodist Church and later transferred her membership to Emmanuel United Methodist Church Pomona, MD serving as an Usher, Church Treasurer, President of United Methodist Women, and member of Souls of Faith Choir. She even had her special seat in the third row. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Roberta Green; brother, Merrick Beck, Sr.; and grandson, Keyontray Henry She is survived by her husband; Norman Henry, Sr., daughter; Robin Henry (Gene) and son; Norman Henry, Jr., grandchildren; Tekahya Lively (Dontrell) (whom she raised), Brittany Brown (Dominic), Donte Henry (Latia), Chiuntia Henry, and Nakeya Henry; as well as 14 great-grandchildren; Dontrell Jr (DJ), Ny’Auna (Ny), Damiya, Donte Jr. , Jeremy, DeMarco, Keyontray Jr, A'yalah, Jhamari, Jay’Ceon, Jy’Mier, Cherish, Yanis and Jer’Mon ; sisters, Danice Cooper, Marcellene Beck, and Delbra Christy; one brother in law George Henry Sr.; her godchildren; Jamese Sisco and Katerra Harris ; a host of nieces and nephews, and devoted family and friends; Iris Macer, Joyce Taylor, Joyce Hopkins, Margaret Wright, Charlotte Potts and Mary Waters. Our family would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere appreciation for the many kind expressions of sympathy extended to us during our time of bereavement. May God bless and keep each of you in his tender loving care. Services will be held on Friday, December 22 at 12:00 pm at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home in Chestertown. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm as well as the night prior, Thursday, December 21, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Ewingtown Cemetery.
