Mickie Lynn Mowbray

Mickie Lynn Mowbray, the light to many lives, passed away suddenly on July 22, 2025. Born at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and a resident of Greensboro, Maryland, Mickie was truly a one-of-a-kind human being—an amazing woman with a vibrant soul whose heart was as big as her laugh. To say Mickie lit up a room would be an understatement. Her smile, bold personality, and wildly contagious sense of humor brought joy and light into every space she entered. She was the grace and grit that held so many together, carrying that role with an unmatched beauty and strength. As Mickie would say “I’ve never met a stranger, everyone is welcome and loved by me.” On April 24, 2012 she married the love of her life, Charles Allen Mowbray ("Cam") Whom would walk through fire for her—a union filled with laughter, love, and unwavering devotion. Mickie’s greatest pride and joy, however, was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband Allen; her two children, Jennifer (Denny) and Aaron Coleman(Tricia); and Zachary Emillio (Abby) whom she raised as her own son and her cherished grandchildren Caydence, Kloie, Manny, Brycen, Finley, Nash, Anthony and Olivia. She was a fiercely loyal and loving grandmother, known as “Mick-Mouse”—moving mountains, swimming oceans, and doing whatever it took to be the best grandmother-their saving grace and bestest friend. Mickie also leaves behind her mother, Joyce Lynch (Francis “Frank” Lynch); her father, William Washburn (the late Jean); her brothers, Tracy Washburn(Jen) and Michael “Glen” Lynch; her sister, Karen O’Neal, and her beloved niece Elizabeth Klingensmith(Kenny); her nephew, Tracey (Trey) Washburn; and her niece, Emily Peet. Mickie also leaves behind her best friends Theresa Lynch, Mindy Sewell, Anita Waters, and Marian (“Muffin”) Galloway. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Jennifer “Mickey” Ashley, grandfather Reggie Ashley, nephew Kyle Washburn and Edward “Bubs” Hafferman whose love and legacy Mickie carried with her always. A woman with an enormous capacity for compassion, Mickie found deep purpose in her work caring for special needs adults. Her career was not just a job—it was a calling, and one she fulfilled with incredible dedication and heart. A couple years back, Mickie and her husband started a jewelry business called “Wings of Love” where she was able to further connect with people through a story creating custom jewelry. She found much solace in reading and painting, but she loved allowing her mind to wonder ocean side, down at the beach. Mickie was always down for a good time, enjoying evenings at the local casino with a drink and winnings in her hand. She spent any spare time playing games with her aunt Lynn Johnson, and cracking jokes with her New York cousins. She had a profound love for all animals and earned her nickname “Fur Baby Mama” with pride and joy. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam 106 Shamrock Road Chester 21619, Maryland. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., also at Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam. A celebration of life will follow the funeral service at the American Legion in Queenstown 6200 Main Street Queenstown MD 21658 In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Mickie’s lifelong love of animals by donating to your local animal shelter in her name. Her legacy of laughter, love, and fierce devotion will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
