Michael Marvin Dunn

Michael Marvin “Mike” Dunn, 80, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, in Easton, Maryland. He was born on August 14, 1945, in Preston, England, to Marvin Lee Dunn and Frances Dunn (née Tobin). Mike grew up in Hampton, Virginia, where he graduated from Hampton High School and Thomas Nelson Community College. He built a life centered around family, service, and community, becoming a well-known and respected member of the Easton area. Mike proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from 1965 to 1969. He earned the National Defense Service Medal for his service overseas during the Vietnam War. Mike shared 47 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy Ellen Dunn. Their love story began uniquely, as the two spoke by phone for six months before meeting in person. During their courtship, Mike charmed Nancy by sending her small gifts through the mail, a reflection of the thoughtfulness and devotion that defined their life together. Mike was a proud and dedicated business owner, serving the community as the owner and manager of the Golden Corral in Easton for 27 years. Later in life, he continued his commitment to helping others through his work as a driver and dispatcher with DelMarVa Community Services. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including reading, feeding birds, and caring for his treasured companion, a Japanese Chin named Snips. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Paul and Stephen Dunn; and his brothers-in-law, Ralph Muraca and Dale Fitzwater. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Ellen Dunn; his sons, Matthew Lee Dunn and Jason Lee Dunn; his daughter-in-law, Allison Casal-Dunn; his sister, Sandra Muraca; his sister-in-law Crystal Fitzwater; and his cherished grandchildren, Wesley Robert Dunn and Oliver Francis Dunn. Mike will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to his family and community, and the quiet, steady way he showed love to those around him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s memory to Trappe United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 362, Trappe, MD 21673 or the Trappe Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 86, Trappe, MD 21673. A memorial service will be held on March 21, 2026, starting at 11am at the Trappe United Methodist Church.
