Marjorie Theresa Glatt

Marjorie Theresa Glatt, of Easton, MD, died July 11, 2013 at Heartfields in Easton. She was 87. She was born on October 2, 1925, in Bronx, NY, to the late Frank Frank and Margaret Rhodius Frank. She attended Evander Childs High School, graduating in the Class of 1943. She began working as a typist with the United States Government in the Merchant Marines for the War Shipping Administration. After being honorably discharged in 1946, she began with the American Contract Bridge League until 1949. On June 13, 1948, she married Francis “Frank” Redford and resided in Bronx, NY, later moving to Long Island in 1958. She began working for the Mastic Beach School District and later with the Patchogue-Medford Library, retiring in 1988. In 1987, she married Clarence B. “Barry” Glatt and resided in Medford, NY. The year after, in 1989, they moved to Maryland, residing in Bozman. In 2000, they moved to the Easton Club in Easton, MD. Mrs. Glatt was a volunteer worker for the Academy of Arts, St. Anne’s Joachim Society of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and the Cancer Center of Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and AARP. She is survived by her husband, “Barry”; a son, David Redford and his wife, Gabrielle, of Annapolis, MD; a daughter-in-law, Lynda Redford, of Earleville, MD; a stepson, Donald Glatt, and his wife, Teri, of Orangeville, PA; a stepdaughter, Janet Mahoney, and her husband, Ken, of Kempner, TX; four grandchildren, Francis Redford of Earleville, MD, Nick Redford and his wife, Ryan, of Charlotte, NC, Alexandra Redford of Annapolis, MD, and William Redford of Annapolis, MD; seven stepgrandchildren, Justin, Ryan, and Tyler Glatt of Orangeville, PA, and Jennifer, Michael, Brian, and Jackie Baum of Kempner, TX; and two great-grandchildren, Adele and Jack Redford of Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 34 years, Frank Redford, and her son, Alan Redford. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 200 South Harrison Street, in Easton. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Michaels Mission Church, 109 Lincoln Avenue, St. Michaels, MD 21663. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
