Linda Sue Carter

Linda passed away at her residence in Greensboro, MD, on August 19, 2026. She was 64 years old. Linda was born in Chestertown, MD, on September 10, 1961. She was the daughter of the late Donald H. Carter and Alta Stowman. In addition, she is preceded in death by her sisters Diana Hackett and April Stafford; brothers Kenneth and David Carter. Growing up in Chestertown, MD, Linda attended Kent County High School. Throughout her life, she took pride in her self-employed work as a homemaker and caretaker, dedicating herself to caring for others. Linda had lasting relationships with lifelong friends, including Howard, Bonnie, Sheila, Nancy, and many more. She frequently visited beaches, especially Betterton Beach, MD, and thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine, staying up to date on current news events and episodes on HGTV and Discovery ID. She loved long phone calls and messages with friends and family making lasting impressions on those she met. Known for her generosity, care, and spunky personality, she did not shy away from conversations and always kept it real. An animal lover with a witty and sharp sense of humor, she was vibrant and full of life. A Do-It-Yourself (DIY) enthusiast and collector of pig memorabilia, trinkets, and family photos, she enjoyed decorating her spaces with warmth, charm, and memories—much like the jewelry she would wear and collect. Throughout her life, she cared for many pets and is survived by Doby, her beloved miniature pinscher. She lived in various places on the Eastern Shore, including Easton, MD, Felton, DE, and Greensboro, MD. She is survived by her family, including her sisters Debbie Allen, Robin Resche, and her nephews and niece: Kyle Hackett, Leo “Dusty” Hackett, and Melissa “Missy” Lewis. Additionally, she leaves behind grandnephews and grandnieces: Adam, Ashley, Cierra, Savana, Ahmed, Khalil, Yasmina, Nasir, Raina, Le-Asia, Leo Jr., and Ahyla, as well as great-grandnephews and a great-grandniece: Eli, Bella, Adam Jr., Ryan, and Trophy.
