Jennifer Marie Thomas

Jennifer Marie Thomas of Church Hill, MD, lost her battle with Melanoma cancer on Monday, April 25, 2011. She was 37. During her fight with cancer, she showed incredible courage and had an abiding faith in our Lord Jesus. Jennifer and her family received an outpouring of love and support from family, friends and the community during her fifteen months of treatment. She shared her love, encouragement and support with many others fighting melanoma cancer. She was an inspiration to all who came to know her. For all the love, encouragement and support they have received, the family is eternally grateful. Born on July 24, 1973, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Robert L. McWhorter and Rosa M. McWhorter of Gambrills, MD. She was a graduate of Old Mill High School, Millersville, MD, and also attended Anne Arundel Community College. he worked at Snow Valley Water Company for several years, and it was there that she met her beloved husband of 13 years, Bryan C. Thomas. In addition, Jennifer worked as a real estate agent for Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc., from 2003 through 2008. She joined Chesapeake Realty, LLC in 2008 and continued there through 2009. She was voted Rookie Realtor of the Year of the Bay Area Association of Realtors in 2007, and served as Secretary/Treasurer on the Board of Directors in 2006 and 2007. Jennifer had a very strong love for her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, photography, camping, interior decorating, her pets, vacations at the beach and going to her children’s ball games. She was the leader of Girl Scout Troop 226 for several years and received a “Green Angel” award in 2009. In addition to her husband, Bryan, she is survived by her three beautiful children, Dylan, Amber and Cody Thomas; her parents, Robert and Rosa McWhorter; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bryan and Carol Thomas of Stevensville, MD; her brother, Robert McWhorter, Jr., of Middletown, DE; her grandmother, Rosina Musumeci of Olney, MD; and numerous other relatives. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011, at 11:00 AM at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, 1861 Harbor Drive, Chester, MD. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, April 28, 2011, from 6-8PM at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Road, Chester, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Trust of Thomas Children, 220 Price Station Road, Church Hill, MD 21623.
