Jean Taylor Lord

A Funeral Liturgy for Jean Taylor Lord of Easton, MD will be celebrated at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Easton on Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at 11:00 AM. Mrs. Lord died at her home on Friday, June 29, 2001. She was 74. Born in Easton, MD, October 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Kate Morris Taylor. She attended public school in Talbot County, where she graduated from high school in 1944. She was employed by C&P Telephone Company, where she worked for 41 years as a telephone operator from 1944 until 1985, when she retired. From 1985 until just a few weeks ago, she worked as a health care worker and companion to the sick and elderly. She has always been known for traveling by bicycle, and over the last 6 years alone has logged 13,625 miles. For many years she raised money annually for St. Jude''s Children''s Research Hospital. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Easton and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Her husband, Hubert P. Lord, whom she married June 1950, died June 20, 1986. She is survived by; two sisters, Margaret T. Mullikin and Frances T. Howell, both of Easton; several nieces and nephews, Kathryn M. Duehrssen of Easton, Patricia H. Rasmussen of Hopkinton, MA, Donna M. Kachura of Crofton, MD, Robert M. Mullikin, Jr. of Wittman, MD and Carol T. Bonner, Norman Taylor and Janice T. Golt, all of Maryland; 8 great-nieces; 8 great-nephews and several cousins still living in this area. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by; a sister, Marie T. Clague and a brother Thomas Morris Taylor and a niece Mary Jo Mullikin. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, Easton, MD with Robert Mullikin, III, Matthew Kachura, Daniel Kachura, Joshua Kachura, Hill Lappen and Richard D. Messick serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral home, P.A., Easton on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM, where a recitation of the Rosary will be held at 8:00 PM.
