Jacob Ryan Little

Jacob Ryan Little of Chestertown, MD passed away suddenly due to a car accident on February 15, 2026. He was 19 years old. Jake was born on July 25, 2006, the son of Kenneth Little and Alice Tickler, in Annapolis, MD. He graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School with the class of 2025 and worked at Food Lion in Centreville. He intended to begin classes in the summer of 2026 to become a grief counselor, which he realized was his calling after becoming involved with Camp New Dawn following the passing of his father in 2018. Jake was active, sociable, and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed fishing, going to the gym, and playing lacrosse wherever he could, whether it be at school, on community teams, or at the park. He loved traveling, attending concerts and sporting events, and was a huge fan of the Seattle Seahawks. Above all else, Jake was kind. He fiercely loved his family and friends and was heavily involved in his community. He attended the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown, where he participated in youth group and often helped with Kids Korner. He spent many years attending and eventually counseling the younger kids at Camp New Dawn, where he discovered his passion and talent for helping people, especially children, through their grief. Jake was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Little, in 2018, as well as two grandfathers, Charles Finch (1999) and Michael Tickler (2010). He is survived by his mother, Alice Tickler, and stepfather Matthew Tickler; sister, Rebecca Little; grandparents: Ginny Finch, Ron Little, Jane Little, and Paula Tickler; aunts: Katie Althoff, Carol Finch, Lisa Rader, Pam Ostrowski; uncles: Kevin Little and Dane Rader; and cousins: Holly, Lucas, Izzy, Payton, Madeline, Lily, Zoe, Courtney, Travis, and Wyatt. Services will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 3:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown. A visitation will be held one hour prior, from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at the church. Jake was known for always wearing either a sports jersey or camouflage, so please feel free to dress in one or both of those in his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jake’s name may be made to Compass Regional Hospice (specifically Camp New Dawn) at 160 Coursevall Dr. Centreville, MD 21617.
