Gregory Forrest Allen

Gregory Forrest Allen age 78, of Easton, Maryland, passed away on December 25, 2025. He was born on February 24, 1947, in Abington, Pennsylvania, to Forrest Dager Allen and Dorothy Frye Allen. He is survived by his wife, Marsha Audrey Allen (née Wicker), whom he met in October 1968 while attending Illinois Wesleyan University, when he invited her to Homecoming. He is also survived by three children, Scott Gregory Allen (Elizabeth Ann LaGuardia); Todd Christopher Allen (Ashley Elizabeth Allen, née Brown); and Laura Christine Allen. His four grandchildren include Samuel Conly Allen, Zachary McBride Allen, Drew Wicker Allen, and Owen Stanley Allen. Greg attended Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, a private boarding school. He went on to study at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, and later completed various executive education programs at Bucknell University and Duke University. Greg proudly served in the United States Army Reserves for seven years, stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He began his career with Bell of Pennsylvania and completed a distinguished professional career at AT&T, where he served as Vice President of Government Affairs. His work took him to Philadelphia, Manhattan, Washington, D.C., Basking Ridge, New Jersey, and Denver, Colorado. A man of deep faith, Greg was an active and devoted member of Christ Church in Easton. He served on the Vestry, as a Eucharistic Minister, and on the discernment committee that helped select a new priest, Reverend Kelsey. He was also a Certified Stephen Minister, offering compassionate care to others. He supported numerous charitable causes, including hands-on ALS support motivated by an ailing family friend in Marathon, Florida, and a church friend in Flat Rock, North Carolina. He also cared deeply for the children at Our Little Roses, a Honduras-based orphanage–visiting numerous times in person, serving on the board, donating, and gathering donations for the charity. Greg had a lifelong love of golf and served as a board member at Sombrero Country Club, Marathon. He also loved being on the water, owning boats in both Marathon and Easton, and delighted in watching his grandsons tubing in Peachblossom Creek. Greg was a volunteer crew member on the historic Chesapeake Bay skipjack, the Winnie, in St. Michael’s, Maryland, and an active HOA committee member in both Marathon and Cook’s Hope, Easton. As a native of Pennsylvania, his football loyalties always belonged to his beloved Eagles, and after completing an executive business program at Duke in his forties–where he played tennis matches with legendary basketball Coach Mike Krzyzewski (Coach K)–he became an enthusiastic Blue Devils fan. Greg Allen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was marked by service, leadership, faith, and generosity. Beyond anything that he did in life, what he meant is what leaves the lasting impact. He was kind, loving, playful, funny, dedicated, helpful, supportive, and selfless. When there was a need from those he knew, and often from those he didn’t, he tried his hardest to fulfill that need. He gave of himself, lovingly, both in words and actions—this is a rare quality and what his family dearly hopes will be remembered of him. “In the end, faith, hope, and love remain—and the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13). Funeral services will be held on January 24th at 12pm at Christ Church, 111 S Harrison St, Easton, MD 21601, with a reception at the Fellowship Hall immediately after.
