Grace P. Horney Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Grace Alice Phillips Horney of Grasonville, MD died January 28, 2003 at Memorial Hospital at Easton. She was 93. Born in Sepulta, OK on November 11, 1909, she was the daughter of Edgar E. and Lettie Jeffers Phillips. She was a graduate of Keene High School in Keene, TX and received her nursing degree at Glendale School of Nursing in Glendale, CA and she received her Batchelor Degree at Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, MD. In 1935 she married William Kenneth Horney of Grasonville, MD. During her career she worked in nursing at Easton Memorial Hospital, Cambridge State, Corsica Hills Nursing Center, Crownsville State Hospital and for Dr. Ralph Libby. She helped many people and was an asset to many doctors during her career. Mrs. Horney had resided at the Mink Hill Assisted Living since 1987. Mr. Horney died October 6, 1980. She was member of Grasonville Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was active in many programs. Mrs. Horney is survived by three sons, Kenneth Phillip Horney of Grasonville, MD, Brian William Horney of Takoma Park, MD and John Campbell of GA; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Kathryn Phillips of Dallas, TX. Funeral services will be held at the Grasonville Seventh Day Adventist Church, Grasonville, MD on Friday, January 31, 2003 at 2:00 PM where friends and family may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
