G. Donald Dudrow

G. Donald Dudrow of Preston, MD died on Sunday, April 13, 2003 at Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was 69. Born October 16, 1933 in Woodsboro, MD, he was the son of the late Glenn Calvin and Catherine Hahn Dudrow. The family moved to Easton, MD in 1939. After graduating from Easton High School in 1951, he served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955. After his release from active duty he took a position with C&P Telephone Company where he remained until his retirement in December 1992. From 1978 until the present he taught for the University of MD Fire & Rescue in addition to teaching fire training at Calhoon Meba Engineering School for the past six years. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Preston. A member of the Federalsburg Vol. Fire Co. for seven years, he was also a member of the Preston Vol. Fire Co. for the past thirty-seven years where he had served as Chief, President, Vice President and Chief Engineer. He was a member of the C&P Telephone Pioneers where he had served as President and Vice-President and a member of the Caroline County Country Club, the Federalsburg V.F.W., and the American Legion in Denton. Mr. Dudrow is survived by his wife, the former Rosalie Fay Morris, whom he married September 5, 1953; three children, Mark Donald Dudrow and his wife, Kris of Stephens City, VA, Dawn Henckel of Easton and Michael Alan Dudrow and his wife, Wendy of Monrovia, MD; a brother, H. Wade Dudrow of Easton; a sister, M. Jane Carroll of Seaford, DE; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Kevin, Hollie and Kellie; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Bill Haddaway of Easton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 17, 2003 at 1:00 PM at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Easton. Friends may call at the Preston Vol. Fire Co. on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Easton, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Preston Vol. Fire Co., Preston, MD 21655 or your local American Cancer Society.
