Frank William Beachley

Frank William Beachley, 71, of Centreville, MD, peacefully passed away on July 3, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 24, 1941, in Annapolis, MD, he was the son of the late Frank and Grace Beachley. After serving in the Air Force, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Welsch on December 26, 1966. In 1968, the newlyweds moved to Ardmore, OK, so Frank could attend flight school and pursue his dream of flying. Soon after, he began a lifelong career in the aviation and marine insurance industry which took his family to Plano, TX, for five years. In 1984, he opened National Marine Underwriters in his hometown of Annapolis with good friend, Bob Robinson. After retiring in 2006, he and Marilyn spent many, many days enjoying the sun and the surf in New Smyrna Beach, FL, their home away from home. Frank lived life to the fullest and never let a day pass without putting a smile on someone’s face or making a new friend. He loved introducing lacrosse to his grandsons, tailgating at Navy football games, soaring through the air in an airplane or golfing with his buddies, but above all, he loved just being with his family and friends. His sharp sense of humor was legendary and laughter, a constant companion. In Frank’s eyes, there is always a silver lining and his glass will be, forever, half-full. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn; cherished children, John (Kathleen) Beachley of Stevensville and Stacie (Craig) McGinnes of Queenstown; four outstanding grandsons, Quinn, Liam, Jack and Matthew; a fiercely loyal sister, Janet (Mark) of Ridgley; and the most wonderful family and devoted friends a man could have. He is preceded in death by his loving parents and dearly missed granddaughter, Molly. To all who knew him, he loved you greatly. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 408 South Liberty Street Centreville, MD. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Broad Creek Cemetery in Stevensville, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Queen Anne’s, Inc., 255 Comet Drive Centreville, MD 21617. Frank loved and was usually seen wearing a tropical shirt so to honor him, the family requests all guests feel free to wear your favorite tropical print, in lieu of black.
