C. Preston Jacquette

Charles Preston Jacquette of Rock Hall, MD died on June 4, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 95. He was born on May 5, 1930, to the late Isaac Simns and Elsie Mae Downey Jacquette. He was raised on the Jacquette family dairy and grain farm and began work at a young age. He graduated from Rock Hall High School and on January 18, 1949, married his wife of 71 years, Regina Bryden, she predeceased him in 2020. As a lifelong farmer, Mr. Jacquette eventually purchased the farm operation from his father and later purchased the Edes Farm where he and his wife later moved. He continued farming until 1999 when he retired. He was a devoted lifelong member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where he sang in the Choir for over 70 years, served as Trustee, and was a member of the Promise Keepers. He also sang in Barber Shop Quartettes and choruses. He was part of a young farmers group, The Farm Bureau, and the Rock Hall Community Band. Mr. Jacquette enjoyed gardening, golf, bowling, watching his purple martins, visiting Ferry Park Beach, and puzzling. He will be remembered for his meticulous lawn and driving around the county to admire the crops. He adored his family but especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his children: Carol Smith of Milton, DE, R. Preston Jacquette (Dee) of Rock Hall, MD, and Charlene Perry (Sam) of Rock Hall, MD; a brother Simns Jacquette of Smithfield, VA; grandchildren: Steve Smith, Marianne Dennis, Kara Callaway, Rob Jacquette, John Jacquette, Philip Perry, and Brad Perry; great grandchildren: Hunter, Cole, Nick, Lauren, Caleb, Sophie, Paige, and Charles, along with two great great grandchildren: Bridget and Ashton. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where relatives and friends may call from 1:00-2:00PM. Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
