Carole Lynn Farrell

On the evening of October 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family, Carole Lynn Farrell went home to join our Lord. She was 76 years old. She was born on October 16, 1947 in Allen Junction, WV to the late John P. Bailey and Hester M. (Saunders) Brehm. At the age of 12, her family moved from West Virginia to Washington D.C. where she met the love of her life William “Butch” Farrell in 1963. Completing their family with three children, Robert, Angela and Jennifer. Their family lived in many places in Maryland, eventually having a permanent home in Centreville, MD. Carole was a bakery manager for several years for Giant Food Store, having worked at stores in Kettering, Pointer Ridge, Queens Chapel, and Edgewater, MD. After a back injury, she spent the rest of her years as a homemaker and stay at home mom. She absolutely loved being a mom and grandmaw and caring for her family. Never one to miss out on any events like grandparents’ day, sports events, musical performances or any other important occasion. She even cared for many other kids as if they were her own. Carole and Butch have many memories together shared with friends. Including their friends from the Kingsman Motorcycle Club who knew her as “Cornfield Carole”. She was always up for a nice cruise on Butch’s Harley with him. She was also a devoted Washington Redskins Fan. Carole’s favorite time of year was Christmas. She had a 3 car garage dedicated as her “Christmas Room” where she would host gatherings for Christmas and New Years. Hosting get-togethers with her family was one of her many joys as she believed the best way to show love was for you to have a full belly with one of her amazing meals. Friends and Family were always welcome to stop in anytime and would know they would leave with a full belly and lots of love. You could always count on her having a fresh pot of coffee ready as she was never without a cup of coffee in hand. She will also be remembered for her love of Panda Bears, always being ready to dance, and for being the “SnowBall Lady” in the town of Queen Anne. Carole is survived by her husband, William “Butch” Farrell; daughters, Angela Cerniglia and Jennifer Farrell (Matt); grandchildren, Tyler Cerniglia, Allison King and Serenity Ireland and a great-grandson, Sean Garton, Jr. She will also be missed by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and anyone who met her. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her step father, Bill Brehm; son, Robert Farrell; grandson, Joseph King; siblings, Gloria Bailey, John Bailey, David Bailey, Roger Bailey and Timothy Brehm; sister-in-law, Gina Long and husband Warner “Junior” Long; brother-in-law, Danny Farrell and Godson, Warner “Bo” Long. A visitation will be held at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Rd. Chester, MD 21619 on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 10 am - 12 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 12 pm. Burial to follow service at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD at 1:30 pm.
