Brian Francis Medeiros

Brian Francis Medeiros of Church Hill, MD, passed away on January 28, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 71. Born on May 29, 1948, in New Bedford, MA, he was the son of the late Guiherme and Thelma Wilde Medeiros. During his time in college, Brian was a musician playing the piano/organ at venues in and around Southeastern Massachusetts under the surname “Brian Wilde.” Brian graduated from New Bedford High in 1966 and went to Southeastern Massachusetts University receiving a BS in Textile/Industrial Engineering. He later joined the Air Force Reserve and as a Sergeant received his Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was awarded two Air Force Achievement Medals for professional skill, knowledge, and leadership. After graduating SMU, Brian first worked as an Associate for Nannery Associates in Fall River, MA. He later held various engineering and production management positions for Charberts, Alcattel Transcom, in Portsmouth, RI, and retired as a Logistics Engineer from Toray Plastics of America in 2009. In retirement, Brian received his real estate license and worked for Champion Reality in their Chestertown, MD, office. An avid yachtsman, Brian held a Captains License from the USCG and served in the Coast Guard Axillary. He belonged to both the Quonset Davisville Navel Yacht Club (North Kingstown, RI) and the Kennersley Yacht Club (Church Hill, MD). He was active in several organizations including Ham Radio, Masons, and Elks. Ham Radio operator KB3WBH, he was a member of the Kent County Amateur Radio Society. A Master Mason he was a member of both the Mount Hope Lodge (Fall River, MA) and the Eastern Star Chapter 86 (Chestertown, MD). He was also a member of the fraternal order of Elk / Moose in Sebastian, FL, where he and Rose spent much of their winter months during retirement. A devoted son, brother, father, grandfather and husband, Brian is survived by his loving wife, Rose Medeiros of Church Hill, MD; son Scott Medeiros and wife Kelly; brother William Medeiros and wife Bonnie; niece Heidi Correia; and three grandchildren, Brady; Campbell; and Payton. A Celebration of Life will be held in May at Kennersley Point Marina in Church Hill, MD. Date TBD. Memorial service and interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven, MA, in early summer.
