Linda Lou (Joiner) Porter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Linda Lou Joiner Porter of Worton, MD died on May 20, 2022 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center. She was 67. She was born in Chestertown, MD on June 30, 1954 the daughter of the late Robert Millard and Clara Virginia Meekins Joiner. Ms. Porter was a 1972 graduate of Kent County High School, 1976 graduate of Salisbury University, and earned her masters degree from Wilmington College. She was married to Norman Carl Porter in 1983, they were married for 36 years. Ms. Porter was an educator and beloved teacher to many. She taught Art and Special Education with Kent County Public Schools, primarily at Kent County Middle School. She also taught at Rock Hall Middle School, Millington Elementary School, and the Kent County Detention Center. She retired from Kent County School System and continued to work as a substitute teacher in retirement. She was previously a member of the Chestertown Elks Lodge #2474 and enjoyed painting, drawing, reading, traveling, making jewelry, and listening to music. She is survived by her daughter: Melissa Lou Mann (Nicholas) of Worton, MD, a son: Steven Carl Porter of Rock Hall, MD, a sister: Marie Kapuscinski (Eugene) of New Jersey, along with a grandson: Bryan Alexander Mann.
