Kathryn Schauber Gannon passed peacefully on April 7, 2021; she was 90 years old. Born January 3, 1931 in Chestertown MD, as the youngest daughter of Bradford Schauber and Frances Myers. She was part of the 1947 graduating class of Chestertown High School. Kathryn then became involved in the family dairy business driving the milk trucks and delivering milk to doorsteps. In 1953 she met Holton Joseph Gannon and the couple was married May 1, 1954. The couple lived on the Gannon family farm in Cordova, then on Murphy Road, Centreville until 1964 at which time they purchased their own farm on Roe-Ingleside Road, Centreville. They farmed this property and in 1979 purchased a farm outside of Church Hill. Holton and Kathryn built their home on the Church Hill farm and resided there until Holton’s death in 2017. Kathryn was a bus driver for QACHS from 1964 until 1996 when she became a substitute driver. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Holton J Gannon, Sr. as well as her siblings, Ann Muriel Jacquette, Frances Eleanor Connolly, William Brandford Schauber, Elizabeth J Glenn and her eldest grandchild Brian Denis. Kathryn is survived by her six children and spouses: Joe & Sue Gannon, Loretta Gannon, Bradford & Ellen Gannon, Lawrence & Betty Jane Gannon, Monica & Kip Matthews, Wanda & Shane Hampton. Her 17 grandchildren with their spouses and 18 great grandchildren including: Matt & Becky Gannon with Ben and Ally; Chris Gannon, Ian & Kari Denis; Elaine & Bradley Barbarick with Rylie; Sara & Sean Martin with Connor, Caleb, Owen, Natalie, and Andrew; Lauren & Phillip Grove with Ellie; Britney Gannon, Jackie & Dana Sell with Julia, Georgia, and Maggie; Lindsey Gannon, Rachel Gannon, Josh Gannon; Marlo & Nick Coppage with Cole and Olivia; Mark & Sarah Wade with Liberty and Mark III; Michael & Emily Wade with Holton and MJ; Bobby Ford, & Tommy Ford. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday April 15th at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church with interment to follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Family & friends may pay respect on Wednesday, April 14th from 5 - 7pm at Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral home, Centreville, MD. Memorial contributions can be made to Compass Regional Hospice or Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Centreville, MD.
