Julia Mae Hynson Demby

July 26, 1944 - January 2, 2022

Julia Mae Hynson Demby of Millington, MD departed this life on January 2, 2022, at Christiana Care Hospital in Delaware. She was 77. Julia was born in Marydel, MD on July 26, 1944 to the late James Hubert and Dorothy Beck Hynson. Julia was a graduate of Kennard High School and married the late Ronald James Demby, Sr. in 1965. They made their home in Massey until moving to Pondtown in 1968 and eventually Chesterville in 1973. Julia worked as a Product Packaging Machine Operator with Playtex for 25 years retiring in 1996. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Pomona, MD where she served as a member of the United Methodist Women, Finance Committee, and Souls of Faith Choir. Julia also sang on the 100-Voice Community Gospel Choir. She loved baking and was known for her sweet potato and white potato pies. Julia also enjoyed watching westerns, Lifetime Movies, soap operas, completing crossword puzzles, and talking on the phone with her baby sister. Above all else she was devoted to her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; two sisters: Elaine King and Frances Jacobs; and one brother: Walter Hynson. She will leave to cherish her memory two children: Alice Smith (Ray) of Chestertown, MD and Ronald Demby, Jr. of Chestertown, MD; two grandchildren: Mark Berry, Jr. of Millington, MD and James Smith, III of Chestertown, MD; three siblings: James Hynson (Ruth) of Sun City Center, FL., Dorothy Parham (Louis) of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Helen Fisher of Chestertown, MD.; five brother-in-laws Gilbert Demby of Wilmington, DE, Preston Demby (Theresa) of Harrington, DE, Kennard Demby (Jessie) of Fort Worth, TX, Wayne Demby (Shonda) of Chestertown, MD, and Gary Waters of Millington, MD, six sister in-laws, Audrey Jones (Charles) of Dover, DE, Darlene Taylor (William) of Dover, DE, Hilda Burris (David) of Millington, MD, Theresa Dixon of Dover, DE, Shirley Demby-Williams (Michael) of Smyrna, DE and Alice Demby of Chestertown, MD; one godchild: Samuel Scott, Jr. of Dover, DE and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15th, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Methodist Church in Pomona, MD. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, January 14th, 2022 from 6:00-8:00PM at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Road Chestertown. Interment will be in Mt.
