John Clinton Connolly Sr

John Clinton "Clint" Connolly, Sr., passed away at Heartfields Assisted Living Center in Easton, MD, on December 9, 2022. He was 98. Clint was born on May 7, 1924, in Queen Anne, MD, to Charles Carroll Connolly and Anna Amelia Slaughter Connolly. He was a graduate of Tri-County High School in Queen Anne, graduating with the Class of 1941. He also attended LaSalle University, Baltimore Technical Institution in Baltimore, and the Maryland and International Correspondence School for drafting. He served in the U.S. Army, in a hospital in Fort Meade, MD, and Camp Lee, VA, from January 1946 to July 12, 1947. Clint was employed by E.S. Adkins and Company for 29 years, where he was in charge of drafting for offices in Seaford, DE, and Hurlock, Easton, Centreville, and Chestertown offices in Maryland. Prior to his drafting career, he served as a radio and TV repairman, a car salesman, an insurance salesman, and a driver for McCord Laundry. He also tried his hand in farming. He was a devout Catholic and an active member and a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Frank M. Jarman American Legion Post #0036 in Chestertown. In his spare time, he enjoyed solving puzzles and word finds, and reading. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Schauber Voshell; brothers, Frank Connolly, Charles Connolly, Fred Connolly, Paul Connolly; and sister, Rita Eyring. He is survived by his sons, Clint Connolly, Jr. (Nancy) of Centreville and Joseph Michael Connolly (Robin) of Easton; daughters, Kay Councell (Rickye) of Galena, MD, and Monica Sewell (John) of Easton; six grandchildren, Casey Palmer, Jennifer Mansfield, Clint Connolly III, Katie Trudeau, Adam Connolly, and Rachel Speak; ten great-grandchildren, Megan Mansfield, Nathan and Kaylin Palmer, Grant and Dagny Connolly, Reid and Remi Speak, Maui and Sailor Trudeau, and Cayson Connolly; brother, Phil Connolly of Centreville; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fellows, Helfenbein, & Newnam Funeral Home in Easton. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 13209 Church Lane, Cordova, MD, at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 16. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Father James Lutz Assembly #2702, PO Box 81, Chester, MD 21619.
