James Richard Baxter

January 3, 1950 - January 31, 2022

James Richard Baxter of Stevensville passed away on January 31, 2022. He was 72 years old. He was born on January 3, 1950 to Richard Benjamin Baxter and Gladys Marie Elburn. James was born and raised on Kent Island. He enjoyed working in his garden, loved his pets, and an Ice-Cold Beer. He was always willing to give a helping hand. He married the love of his life, Evelyn Cecelia Counsellor on April 19, 1969. They spent 39 wonderful years together until she passed on July 11, 2008. James worked as a well driller and truck driver throughout his career, for Colliers Well Drilling and Wagman Heavy Civil Inc. until he retired. James is survived by his brother, Rabbit Baxter (Terri) of Stevensville, MD; his sisters, Helen Kasper (Holbert) of Klamath Falls, OR., Shirley Thomas (Guy) of Chester, MD., Kelly Baxter of Easton, MD.; many nieces and nephews who he loved very much and a special friend who has helped him within the last few years, Molly Clark. There will be a private burial. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 2PM - 6PM with a Memorial Service beginning at 3PM, Located at the Bay Country Mooser Lodge #831, 6154 Main Street, Queenstown, MD 21658.
