Dixie Rada Morris

Dixie Rada Morris of Queenstown, MD died Friday, February 20, 2004 at her home. She was 60. Born in Grasonville, MD on September 5, 1943 she was the daughter of the late George Charles Rada, Florence Radcliffe Baynard and second father, Lister Baynard. She attended Easton High School and would later work for Dr. Packard in Easton, MD. In 1974 she began a career with the State of Maryland in the Comptroller''s office with the Gas Tax Division in Annapolis, MD after 28 years of service she retired from the State as a Revenue Examiner of the Income Tax Division. On May 2, 1980 she married Carl A. Morris of Stevensville, MD. Throughout her life, Mrs. Morris was very active in Christ Episcopal Church in Stevensville, MD serving two terms as a member of the vestry, Sr. Warden, Sunday school teacher for14 years, was in charge of the Silent Auction at the annual Church Bazarre for many years, was a Lay Eucharistic Visitor, and lay reader. She served on the Board and Allocation Committee for the United Way, the Chesterwye Foundation auction committee, Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW #7464 in Grasonville, MD, served on the Queen Anne''s County Board of Elections and she also participated for many years with Christmas in April. Dixie especially enjoyed her annual trip to Rehoboth Beach each year with her family and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Thomas D. Willey, Jr. of Queenstown, MD, Michael Lee Willey of Cordova, MD and Andy Morris of Centreville, MD; two daughters, Michele M. Willey of Baton Rouge, LA and Kathleen A. Richardson of Annapolis, MD; three sisters, Diane Sewell of Centreville, MD, Denise Rada of Centreville, MD and Debbie Mende of St. Michaels, MD; four grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Willey, Ashley Lauren Willey, Tyler Mathew Messick and Joshua David Willey all of Queenstown, MD. Funeral service will be held 11AM on Thursday, February 26, 2004 at Christ Episcopal Church in Stevensville, MD. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 from 5PM to 8PM at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P. A. in Chester, MD. Interment will be in Broadcreek Cemetery in Stevensville, MD . The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Christ Episcopal Church Building Fund, 830 Romancoke Road, Stevensville, MD.
