William Keith Parsons

On Friday, December 18, 2020, William (Bill) Keith Parsons, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 88. Bill was born August 13, 1932, at home in Parchment Valley, Jackson County, WV. He was raised in West Virginia and Ohio and he moved to Maryland in 1958 to work for the Washington, DC, Highway Administration. He lived in Kensington, MD, and later Highland, MD, until his retirement in 1993. He was retired from the Army Corp of Engineers, Baltimore District, Washington Aqueduct Division, where he served as a machinist. He loved gardening and working in his yard. He was especially proud of his lawn, which his family fondly remembers as completely weed free due to his daily maintenance. A Master Mason, he was raised in the Kensington Lodge No. 198 and he went on to become Master of all the York Rite bodies of Freemasonry. After his retirement, he and his wife moved to Easton where he continued to be an active member of Coats Lodge No. 102. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lovell Minor Parsons Jr. and Nellie Lee (Board) Parsons and a daughter-in-law, Robin A. (Bickett) Parsons. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Hilda Marie (Tarbert) Parsons; four children, William David Parsons of Cooksville, MD; Jacquelyn Virginia (Parsons) Shields and her husband Gary W. Shields of Worton, MD; Charlotte M. (Parsons) Wood and her husband Frank A. Wood III of Williamsburg, VA; and Darryl Hamilton Parsons and his wife, Danica L. (Donalies) Parsons of Frederick, MD; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Additionally, Bill is survived by his four brothers, Lovell Minor Parsons III of Toledo, OH; Charles F. Parsons of Little Hocking, OH; Roger L. Parsons of Washington Courthouse, OH; and Ronald G. Parsons of Cincinnati, OH; two cousins, Elizabeth Board and Steve Board; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Masonic Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home P.A., 200 South Harrison Street, Easton, MD. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery in Ripley, WV in the summer of 2021.
