Wayne Thomas Humphries

Wayne Thomas Humphries, 81, passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, enduring friendships, and a legacy of love for his family. Born on January 9th, 1945, Wayne was the son of the late Raleigh T. Humphries and Ruth Snyder Humphries. He was raised in Hyattsville, Maryland, where he graduated from Hyattsville Senior High School. To this day, he shared a close and lasting bond with Gino Facchiano, his longtime and loving childhood friend. He was preceded in death by his beloved older sister, Willie Mae Schoenian of Naples, Florida. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of many years, T Humphries, and his three children: Tracy Skiba and her husband, Paul, of Mount Aire, Maryland; Mark Humphries and his wife, Jessica, of Edgewater, Maryland; and Amanda Humphries and her wife, Ellen, of Vancouver, BC. He was a proud and loving grandfather to five grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride. His nieces, Robin and Ruth, brought him great joy and comfort as well. Wayne enjoyed a long and successful career as a financial advisor. He was the proud co-owner of Bayview Financial Group, alongside his business partner and friend, Chip Brittingham. Throughout his career, Wayne was known for his integrity, wisdom, and genuine care for the people he served. As a devoted man of faith, Wayne was a longtime member of Kent Island Methodist Church. He found great joy and meaning in participating in the life and ministry of his church community. Wayne belonged to many clubs and organizations including being a founder and contributor of several educational-related programs in Queen Anne’s County, including “Character Counts!” Wayne was an avid fan of Corvettes and a longtime member of the National Corvette Club, a passion that brought him great joy and lasting friendships over the years. His enthusiasm for classic cars was well known among family and friends, and his email address even reflected this passion, affectionately known as “Corvette Wayne.” He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, who he loved as if they were his children, not just his pets. Wayne will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and steadfast faith. His wisdom, compassion, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many and will continue to be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
