Virginia Lee Martin

Virginia “Ginny” Lee Martin, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on August 11, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born on July 19, 1941, in Derry Township, Pennsylvania to Pearl and Christopher Goss. Virginia was the eldest of three siblings, including Evelyn "Faye" Presbury (William), Kay Kelkowski (Joseph), and Bonney Sue Goss. Sadly, both Evelyn "Faye" and Bonney Sue have preceded her in death. Virginia shared a beautiful journey of love and companionship with her late husband Ralph Martin for 33 years. Together they created a loving family and raised four children: Bonney Legg (Gene), Steven Martin(Tina), Kevin Martin (Wendy), and Michael Martin (Karen) who sadly preceded her in death. As a proud grandmother, Virginia cherished her family which included eleven grandchildren Jason Collier (Heather), Jennifer Walters (Jason), Katherine Kundrat (John), Bryan Martin (Nicole), Colby Martin (Lauren), Kevin Martin, Jr, Ryan Martin (Megan), Karrah Rebstock, Justin Martin (Alyssa), Brandon Martin (Emily), Stacy Martin, Allyson Martin, and Eric Martin. In addition to her grandchildren, she is also survived by her Niece whom she considered as one of her own children Karen Ann Stubbs (James), along with many other nieces and nephews. 20 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren as well as her 3 Step Grandchildren, 5 Step Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Step Great-Great Grandchild. She showered them all with abundant love and affection. Family meant everything to Virginia; she found immense joy in spending quality time with her loved ones and creating lifelong memories. Virginia will always be remembered for her extraordinary qualities that touched the lives of those around her. With an unwavering commitment to honesty, she inspired trust in all who knew her. Kindness flowed effortlessly from her heart as she extended compassion to everyone she encountered. Even in the face of adversity, Virginia showed remarkable resilience that served as a shining example to all who were fortunate enough to share in her life. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Virginia had a steadfast spirit of determination that guided her through life's challenges. After her husband’s death she went to work at Asgrow Seed Company and Fisherman’s Inn. Her strength was unmatched as she faced various trials with grace and fortitude. The legacy left behind by Virginia Martin is one of love, warmth, integrity, and inner strength. In her passing we know that she will now once again be enjoying her endless evening drives with her husband Ralph out looking for deer and all other wildlife. She will also be fondly remembering her weekly Thursday get-togethers with her sister Kay. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests donations be made in Virginia's name to the charity of your choice. Virginia will forever remain in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to guide and protect us. Rest peacefully, dear Virginia, knowing that your legacy of love will endure for generations to come. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 16 at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 408 S. Liberty St. in Centreville, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10 am. Burial will follow the service at Chesterfield Cemetery in Centreville.
