Teresa Louise Film, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 66. Born on April 3, 1959, in Chestertown, Maryland, Teresa was a dedicated and caring individual whose life was marked by her commitment to family, faith, and community. Teresa's journey began in Chestertown, where she grew up surrounded by a large family, as the sixth of seven children. She was the daughter of Francis Edward Schauber and Anna Louise Schauber and was predeceased by her parents, her sister Anna Jean Innes, and her brother-in-law Chip Ireland. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Film. As a teenager, Teresa loved riding her horse, Dutchess, around her father's brick yard. Even after leaving Chestertown, she continued to care for Dutchess, who lived for 35 years and provided riding lessons to many. Teresa's academic pursuits led her to the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado, where she earned her Veterinary Technician license. She returned to Maryland and furthered her education with a bachelor's degree in accounting from Salisbury University. It was while she was in Salisbury that she met Ken, while dining at a restaurant. She was unsure at first and gave him a test- he was to call her at a specific time and location. At precisely 3:00, the phone rang; Ken passed the test and so began over 42 years of a beautiful life together, filled with love and shared adventures. Her professional life was dedicated to service and caring for others. In 1994, she and Ken opened Myersville Dental, now South Mountain Dental. She played a pivotal role in the success of the practice. Over the years, Teresa took on numerous roles in the office, including manager, receptionist, and dental assistant. Her friendly and caring personality made her an invaluable asset to the practice and to all who knew her. Teresa's life was also enriched by her hobbies and passions. She enjoyed hiking, especially uphill, traveling, riding her electric bicycle, and taking motorcycle rides with Ken. Teresa loved tubing down Antietam Creek in the summers and going on adventures with her family. Faith was a cornerstone of Teresa's life. She was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church, where she taught Sunday School for elementary age children for over a decade. Her faith brought her great comfort and joy. Teresa always cared for others, helping a great many people without any expectation of anything in return. Her gift for bringing people together through her laughter and her love of games and puzzles left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Teresa's family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Film, her two daughters, Cassandra Film and Tracey (Michael Schleusener) Film, and her grandson, Haskell Schleusener. Teresa's siblings, Francis Everett (Evelyn) Schauber, Carol Ann (Robert) Plitko, Linda Kay (Jay) Walls, David Alan (Cheryl) Schauber, and Mary Evelyn Ireland brother-in-law John Innes as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family will deeply miss her. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her. Teresa Louise Film will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her kindness, her dedication to family and faith, and her ability to spread joy through her infectious spirit. A viewing will be held on February 20, 2026, from 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein, & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Rd, Chestertown, MD. A Funeral Mass will be held on February 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 508 High St, Chestertown, MD.
