Suzon Marion Strack

Suzon Marion (Bowers) Strack died July 26, 2026 at her home in Queenstown, Maryland less than a month from her 79th birthday of Alziemer’s type dementia. Suzon was born on August 20, 1947, in Washington, D.C., at Columbia Hospital for Women, the daughter of the late John T. Bowers and Virginia Ann "Gigi" (Smith) Bowers. She graduated from Elizabeth Seton High School in Bladensburg, Maryland, in 1965 and later attended the University of Maryland. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Steve Strack, of Queenstown, Maryland; her beloved son, Christopher "Toph" Blackistone, and his wife, Katie, of Prince Frederick, Maryland; their daughter, Hadley; and Christopher's daughters, Brittany King and her husband, Austen, along with their newborn daughter, Adeline, of Mount Holly, North Carolina, and Taylor Blackistone of Annapolis, Maryland. Suzon is also survived by her sisters, Pandora Milligan and her husband, Mark, of Abruzzo, Italy, and Christina Taccetta of Manassas, Virginia; her niece, Meredith Taccetta of Kennewick, Washington; and her brother, Philip Taccetta of Fraser, Colorado. She is further survived by her cousin and childhood rival, Carolyn Smith of Sun City, Arizona, along with many other beloved cousins, their spouses, and children. Among those who mourn her passing are her dearest and longest-standing friend, Linda Stolba, and her husband, Ed, of Franklin, Tennessee. She is also lovingly remembered by her cherished friends of more than 45 years, Sheila and Tom Eckhart of Annapolis, Maryland, whose friendship was a constant source of joy and support throughout her life. Suzon was a kind and private person whose gentle spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She loved children and animals deeply and had a remarkable ability to see the good in others. After making her home on Maryland's Eastern Shore, she was grateful for the warmth and friendship extended to her by her neighbors and the many friends she made there. Suzon will be remembered for her compassion, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Everyone who knew her has lost a truly wonderful and loving person who always did her best and gave of herself generously. Just as she faced every challenge throughout her life, she met her final struggle with courage, dignity, and strength to the very end. A Celebration of Life honoring Suzon will be held after Labor Day. Family and friends will be notified of the date, time, and location once arrangements have been finalized.
