Samantha Nicole Durant

Samantha Nicole Durant passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007 as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Queenstown, MD. She was 18 years old. Born on July 17, 1989 at Fort Huachuca Military Hospital in Arizona to Patricia Theresa Olsen Durant and Charles Kenneth Durant, she was the youngest of the 4 Durant children and a twin sister to Christopher. She traveled all over the world, attending school in Belgium for several years. On October 31, 1996 they moved to Kent Island where she graduated at Kent Island High School in 2007 with presidential honors. Samantha was a full-time student at Chesapeake Community College and worked at the Banfield Veterinary Pet Clinic. Due to her great compassion to help others, Samantha had recently decided to become a geneticist. She loved spending time with all of her family, her dog, Loni, her cat, Marvin, and her rabbit, Mr. Fuzzems. Samantha is survived by her mother, Patricia Theresa Durant Turner and her father, Charles Kenneth Durant; sister, Jessica Stefanski and her husband Ignatius of Stevensville, MD; 2 brothers, Charles Durant II of Stevensville, MD and Christopher Durant of Stevensville, MD; maternal grandfather, Wolbur Daniel Olsen, Jr. of Erma, NJ; paternal grandmother, Virginia Durant and her husband Frank of Billings, Montana; paternal grandfather, Raymond Lee and his wife Debbie of Spokane, Washington; nephew, Charles Anthony Durant of Stevensville, MD; many uncles and aunts; step father, Michael Turner; and step brother, Michael Albert Turner of Stevensville, MD. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Kent Island United Methodist Church, 2739 Cox’s Neck Road, Chester, MD 21619. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 11 am at the Kent Island United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN 38018. Samantha I carry your heart with me. I carry it in my heart.
