Robynn Dyann Franks Ellis, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease. Born on June 13, 1963, in Washington, DC, she was the beloved daughter of Dr. C. Ronald Franks and Judith Webber. Robynn was a remarkable woman whose creativity knew no bounds. She was a master artist, excelling in crocheting, fabric sculpting, and culinary arts. Her passion for creativity was a reflection of her vibrant spirit and her desire to bring joy to those around her. Her dream was to be a gemologist because she loved everything that was shiny and glittery. Although she had a love for shiny things, she found her love of the outdoors again with the love of her life Allan. She loved to go fishing and bird watching with her family (as long as there were no flying bugs) with any excuse to travel and see new things. After their marriage, Robynn joined Allan as Co-host on their weekly radio show. She was not shy about sharing her opinions, disagreeing with Allan, and engaging with the listeners. Always gracious, she became a fan favorite. After dedicating 25 years to her career as an ultrasonographer, she left Easton Memorial Hospital in 2018, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and professionalism. Robynn is survived by her deeply devoted husband, Allan Ellis, and her daughter and best friend, Brianne Willey, along with son-in-law, Jason. The absolute joys of her life were her grandchildren, Jameson and Brynlee Willey, who brought her immeasurable happiness. She is also survived by her father Dr. C. Ronald Franks (Jennifer), her mother Judith Tayman Webber (Donald), her loving sisters, Kristin Johnston (Chuck) and Lennox Franks, as well as her cherished nieces, Syd Wilson (Kareem) and Addie Todd (Frankie), and nephews Tucker Wilson (Leanne) and Zach Johnston (Alex). Robynn's warmth extended beyond her immediate family; she had a lifelong beautiful friendship with Teresa Jones and work bestie turned dear friend Maria Sterrett. She was surrounded by a plethora of great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, goddaughter, and friends who will forever remember her kindness, kookiness, and creativity. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, James and Margaret Tayman, Charles and Charlene Franks, and her aunt Lois Franks. Robynn loved her people hard, she was always there for them and dedicated to making everything “alright”. She had almost a childlike giddiness over holidays, family gatherings, and remembering the old days. Robynn's legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched with her love, creativity, and unwavering spirit. She will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Join us for a heartfelt Celebration of Life in honor of Robynn Ellis at the beautiful Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, located at 600 Discovery Ln., Grasonville, MD, on Saturday, May 17. All friends, family, and listeners are warmly invited to come together from 1 PM to 4 PM to share cherished memories and celebrate the vibrant life of Robynn. Light refreshments will be served, creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center or to the continuing education fund of her grandchildren, reflecting Robynn's love for nature and her commitment to family. This gathering will be a time of joy, remembrance, and community, as we honor the legacy of a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many.
