Robert Leo Russ

Robert Leo Russ passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020, at UMSMC in Easton, MD. He was 65. Leo was born on December 21, 1954, in Easton, MD, to the late Robert S. Russ and Regina G. Russ. He attended Saints Peter and Paul School and graduated in 1972. After high school, Leo took Architecture and Drafting classes at Chesapeake College. He also attended Armstrong Vinyl School, which certified him in vinyl and carpet installation. Leo worked for many years at Russ Builders with his father, Bob Russ. He thoroughly enjoyed working alongside his dad, the two shared many practical jokes and lots of laughs throughout the years. He was well known for installing both vinyl flooring and carpeting in the area for many years. Later, Leo enjoyed driving a delivery truck for Consolidated Delivery. This career suited him, as he loved to talk and make friends. Wherever he went, Leo always ran into someone he knew. Leo enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and goose hunting, as well as an occasional card game. He especially enjoyed attending local bull roasts. His greatest enjoyment was simply spending time with his family and friends. Leo will be deeply missed by his wife, children, family, and friends. Leo was fiercely proud of his children, Jamie, Alyssa, and Michaela. He frequently told them how proud he was of them. He felt his children were his greatest accomplishment and legacy. Leo is survived by his wife, Candy Russ of Cordova; and their children, Jamie of Cordova, Alyssa of Virginia Beach, VA, and Michaela of Cordova; his sisters, Theresa Russ and Rose Rice of Cordova; his brothers, Ken Russ and his wife, Sue, of Royal Oak, and Mike Russ and his wife, Marilou or Cordova; best friend, Jimmy Lee and his wife, Holley of Cordova; and his godson, Jason of Easton; loved nephews and nieces, Derek Russ and his wife, Ashley, of Cordova, Sara Rice of Cordova, Megan Timms and her husband, Joey, of Cordova, Michael Russ of Denton, Katie Pedersen and her husband, Rob of Easton, Daniel Rice and his wife, Tiffany, of Easton, and Becca Russ of Royal Oak. He was also blessed with numerous great-nephews and great-nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gannon Russ; nephew, Anthony Rice, and a very special cousin, Bobby Gannon. The gentlemen that will be serving as pallbearers are Jimmy Lee, Joey Gannon. Derek Russ, Michael Russ, Ken Russ, Mike Russ, Daniel Rice, Donnie Thompson. Burial will be private.
