Robert Raymond Roths II

Robert “Bob” Raymond Roths II peacefully passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 74 after courageously battling lymphoma. He was born on May 19, 1951, in Washington, D.C., to the late Robert Roths I and Matilda Borda. Bob grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland, and attended Staunton Military Academy, graduating in 1970. He cherished the lifelong friendships and memories he made during his school years. He attended Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, and later graduated from Syracuse University. Following college, Bob dedicated over 20 years of service working for the IRS in programming and cybersecurity. Bob later met the love of his life, Judy Roths, through Sunday Singles at the Comfort Inn in Westminster, Maryland. The two were married in 2000 at Kentmorr and built a beautiful life together centered on love, laughter, and companionship. Bob and Judy truly accepted each other for who they were and enjoyed doing everything together — dancing, boating, decorating their home, watching sunsets, enjoying nature, and especially traveling on cruises together. In their younger years, Bob and Judy loved spending time sailing on their two sailboats. They also enjoyed the simple joys of life at home with their beloved cats, Baby Girl, Butters, and Ba-Bop. Bob enjoyed swimming, golfing, boating, and traveling on cruise ships. He was a proud member of Prospect Bay Golf Club, where he spent many happy days golfing with friends. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Judy Roths; his brother, John Roths (Trish); nieces, Jalene and Justie; and Judy’s nieces, Tammy and Sarah. He treasured the time he spent with his family and loved ones, all of whom meant so much to him. Bob was a simple man who appreciated the quiet joys of life, good people, and meaningful moments. He was kind, generous, and welcoming everyone he met. His gentle spirit and caring heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 14th, from 3:00–4:00 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Road, Chester, MD 21619. Family and friends are invited to remain after the service for food and fellowship at the funeral home as they continue celebrating and honoring Bob’s life together.
