Regina Russ

Regina Mary Russ passed away on January 20, 2018, at St. Peters Assisted Living Facility she was 86. Born on June 12, 1931 in Easton, MD, she was the daughter of the late James Leo Gannon and Ethel Rhodes Gannon. She met Robert S. Russ and the two were married on May 30, 1952, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cordova, MD. They resided and raised their family in Cordova. Regina worked for RCA as a bookkeeper then worked beside her husband with Russ Builders and on their family farm for over 50 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and longtime supporter of Saints Peter & Paul’s Catholic School. Regina was a devoted wife, mother, and mom-mom. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, and attended all of their events. Regina also enjoyed camping and relaxing on the beach. She is survived by her children, Robert Leo Russ (Candace) of Cordova, Theresa Marie Russ of Cordova, Kenneth James Russ (Sue) of Royal Oak, Rose Marie Elizabeth Rice of Cordova, and Michael William Russ (Marilou) of Cordova; her grandchildren, Jamie, Alyssa and Michaela Russ, Derek Russ (Ashley), Megan Timms (Joey), Katie Pedersen (Rob), Becca Russ, Sara Rice, Daniel Rice Jr (Tiffany), and Michael J. Russ; and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Jo Jump of Easton; a brother, Vincent Gannon (Shirley) of Cambridge; and sisters in-law. Barbara and Kitty Gannon. Along with her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Robert S. Russ; a son, Gannon Russ; a grandson, Anthony Rice and siblings, Gene Gannon, Claire Herzog, Anna Mae Rash, James Gannon, Bill Gannon, Marie Dudley, Bobby Gannon, Franklin Gannon, Holton Gannon and Eddie Gannon. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam, Funeral Home in Easton on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. A funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday January 25, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Cordova, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at New Spring Hill Cemetery.
