Raymond Andrew Lipocky

Raymond Andrew Lipocky, aged 89, died peacefully on August 28, 2018, a mere five days after his beloved wife, Pauline, died, at Integrace Bayleigh Chase, in Easton, MD. Born on April 22, 1929, in Cleveland, OH, son to Andrew and Magdalene, and younger brother to his sister, Rita Nagy. Raymond was a very strong, passionate, and determined young man. He attended East Technical High School in Cleveland, He had a call to duty, and enlisted in the US Navy in 1946. After serving for two years in Patuxent River, MD, he returned to Cleveland where he met the love of his life, his wife of 68 years, Pauline. Raymond began his lifelong career in the supermarket business, with The Kroger Co. as a Meat Cutter. His growing and successful career took him and his family on several moves through the states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and finally Maryland. Raymond and Pauline began their retirement in St. Michael’s, MD, in 1990, where he continued to relish in his love of the food business by consulting and working on various business adventures. Raymond had a passion for the game of golf, that ‘his boys’ played by his side throughout his lifetime. He believed deeply, that ‘food is love’ and took great joy in arranging many family gatherings where he was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He and Pauline thoroughly enjoyed traveling wherever and whenever possible to be with the many friends and family members they were blessed with. Raymond and Pauline had a large and beautiful family to include six dedicated children, three daughters-in-law and two sons-in-law who all loved and admired him; Garry Lipocky of Camillus, NY, Dr. Tony and Cindy Calabro of Trappe, MD, Alan and Joanne Lipocky of Medway, MA, Ray and Lori Lipocky of Columbus, GA, Mark and Lori Lipocky of Charlotte, NC, and David and Mary Burke of Severna Park, MD. Raymond was also blessed with nine grandchildren; Mike McKenzie, Hailey Hays, Chelsea Lipocky, Sarah Lipocky, Andy Lipocky, Eric Lipocky, Anna Lipocky, Grace Burke and David Burke III, who will all miss his fearlessness and endless ‘Never Give Up’ attitude. The family wishes to deeply thank all of those who sincerely cared for him during his extended illness and time at Integrace Bayleigh Chase. Their unending dedication to his comfort and care will always be remembered. Donations may be made to Employee Christmas fund at Integrace Bayleigh Chase, 501 Dutchman’s Lane, Easton, MD 21601. A memorial service will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC, at a date yet to be determined, where Raymond and Pauline will lie in together in their eternal home with God.
