Peggy J. Prevost

Peggy Jenkins Prevost died on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 after a short battle with cancer. Born in Cambridge, MD on March 16, 1939, she was the daughter of the late J. O’Neill and Rebecca M. Jenkins. She was a graduate of Frederick High School in Frederick, MD and Mary Washington College in Charlottesville, VA. Prior to her marriage in 1963, she was a physical education teacher at Towson University. She resided for thirty years in Frederick, MD where she was a member of the Green Walled Garden Club and the Cotillion Club. She lived the following twenty years in Centreville, MD where she was a member of the Queen Anne’s County Garden Club, the Queen Anne’s County Mental Health Association and Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. She and her husband moved to Talbot County in 1996 where they reside in Trappe, MD. She was a member of the Cambridge Yacht Club and the Talbot Country Club where she enjoyed her lifelong love of the game of bridge and playing golf. She was an avid cook, flower arranger and bird watcher. She warmly shared her effervescent personality and love of life with everyone she met. She was the proud leader of her annual Camp Gran, for the benefit of her beloved grandchildren, at the family residence in Trappe. Mrs. Prevost is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 44 years, Gene Prevost; two daughters, Michele Corr and her husband John of Walkersville, MD, and Jennifer Murphy and her husband Tom of Mt. Airey, MD; five grandchildren, Michael and Christian Corr, and Thomas, Bridget and Brian Murphy; and her sister, Valerie Jenkins of Rehoboth Beach, DE. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2008 from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton, MD. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Easton, MD with Bishop-Elect of the Wilmington Diocese, Francis Malooly, Pastor Robert E. Coine, Associate Pastor Michael Casari, and Rev. John Lippold as concelebrants. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Easton, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her favorite charity, The Saint Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 7906 Ocean Gateway, Easton, MD 21601. Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton, MD.
