Mrs Peggy T. Waller

Woman of Virtue Peggy T. Waller was born on September 25, 1927 in New York, New York, to the late James Elliott Thompson and Wilhelmina Riley of Greensville SC. She departed this earthly life to enter into eternal rest and peace on of Friday, May 16th 2014. On June 7, 1953 Salvador (Sal) B. Waller asked her to join him in holy matrimony. She was a devoted wife and dedicated mother. From this union two sons were born – Renee and Andre. For those who knew Peggy she was a sweet and kind soul. She was educated at the Oakwood Seventh Day Adventist College (University), Huntsville, Alabama. In 1957 she started working at the US Department of Transportation where she was recognized and highly commended for her outstanding work and cooperative attitude. While there she received many accolades and awards including the US Department of Transportation Administrator’s Award for Superior Service in1971. She touched the lives of many that she came in contact with and gained their utmost respect. Peggy and Sal originated a lucrative investment club. This became Peggy's hobby and as result of her business acumen it yielded many high returns. Many looked forward to her Christmas cards to read about their most recent adventures and travels to many places such as Italy, Japan, England, Paris, Bermuda and Germany to name a few. They often traveled with friends to places across the US including Hilton Head, SC, Las Vegas and cruises to Alaska. Since 1985 Peggy enjoyed serving as a member of the Iota Phi Lambda Sorority Inc., Alpha Gamma Chapter, Washington, D.C. She and Sal attended many of Sal’s Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity events. Peggy retired in Columbia MD in 1971. Later she and Sal moved to beautiful Easton, MD, where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a devoted Christian and in 2008 made the Presbyterian Church of Easton Maryland her home. Peggy leaves her legacy and cherished memories to her loving and devoted husband (Sal); her darling son Andre; daughter in law Denise Franklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles and friends. Also a special niece, Andrea Toadvine-Lenard, who cared for Peggy in her final days. One loved one preceded her in death, her beloved son Renee.
