Patricia C. Wrightson

Patricia Carreau Wrightson of Easton, MD died March 15, 2005. She was born November 11, 1917 in Bedford, PA to the late Mary Louise Stiver and John Raymond Burke. During the later part of her childhood, she was raised and adopted by her late aunt and uncle, Margaret Stiver Carreau and Robert Carreau. Pat was a resident for the last eight years at William Hill Manor, having suffered a stroke in July 1997. She grew up in Bedford, PA and attended St. Lawrence University. She worked in New York City and later moved to Cambridge, MD in the late 1930’s with her family. She enjoyed sailing her “Scrappy Cat” boat with her sister, Jane, at the Tred Avon Yacht Club. In 1940 she married Francis H. “Leo” Wrightson. She worked as a bookkeeper at an Easton insurance company and several local pharmacies. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends at the Talbot Country Club and the Tred Avon Yacht Club for many years. She also enjoyed world traveling, wildlife, knitting, and her family. Mr. Wrightson died in April 1984. Her sister, Jane Carreau Keegan also preceded her in death February 1996. Mrs. Wrightson is survived by her daughter, Carol and her husband Jerry Armstrong of Royal Oak; her son, Francis Hall “Skip” Wrightson III and his wife Sandy of Oxford; four grandchildren, Marcia W. Webb of Chestertown, J. Michael Armstrong, Jr. of Smyrna, DE, Michelle Armstrong-Keen of Easton, and Douglas Taylor Wrightson of St. Michaels; four great-grandsons, Connor Webb, Jerry Armstrong, Jonathan Keen and Alan Keen. She is also survived by a niece, Elaine Wrightson and a nephew, Steve Wrightson, both of Easton; a devoted niece, Stefanie K. O’Keefe of Wilton, CT, and three nephews, Terry Keegan, Jeffrey Keegan, and Gregory Keegan all of New York; a step-brother, John Nevin Shaffer of Austin, TX and step-sister, Libby Shaffer Hudson of Chevy Chase, MD. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 12:00 Noon at the William Hill Manor Auditorium, Easton, MD. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a wildlife organization of choice or the American Heart Association, 501 Idlewild Ave., Easton, MD 21601.
