Patricia Retallack

Patricia Retallack went to Heaven peacefully on May 6th, 2024, at ACTS. Born on May 30, 1933, to Olin and Lena Bryan. Patsy's journey through life is a testament to her dedication, resilience, and compassion. Starting her education at Easton High School in 1951, she quickly advanced to become an alumnus of the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in 1954. This foundation set her on a remarkable 55-year career in the nursing field, where she demonstrated her versatility and commitment by taking on various roles. From hands-on care as an OR nurse and private duty nurse to leadership positions such as house supervisor and ultimately the director of nursing, Patsy's career reflects a lifelong commitment to healthcare and the well-being of others. Her pursuit of knowledge and excellence didn't stop with her early education. Patsy furthered her studies at Chesapeake College, continually seeking to enhance her skills and understanding, a trait that undoubtedly contributed to her successful career in nursing. Beyond her professional life, Patsy was deeply integrated into her community, embodying the spirit of service and faith. As a member of Holy Trinity Church and a Sunday School teacher, she influenced many by sharing her values and teachings, nurturing the spiritual growth of those around her. Patsy's passion for helping others extended beyond her professional and church activities. She devoted her time to volunteering at Easton Memorial Hospital and the Oxford Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for decades, demonstrating a wide-ranging commitment to her community's well-being. Her love for gardening and nature speaks to her appreciation for life in all its forms, reflecting a person who not only cared for humans but also cherished the environment. Patsy's life story is a beautiful blend of professional achievement, community service, and personal hobbies, making her a true inspiration. She was simply one of those special kinds of people loved by many. Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Lena Bryan and her granddaughter Carrie Elizabeth Leonard, whom Patsy has long awaited the day to be able to do circle the word books with again. Patsy is survived by her two Children, Ralph Miles (Joanne) and Marrie; her brother Charles Joseph Bryan Sr. (Julie); three wonderful grandchildren Patrick Retallack (Hailee), Spencer Retallack, and Amanda Retallack, DVM; and many loving nieces and nephews. She waited to go to Heaven to know that her first Great Grandchild, from Patrick and Hailee… Graham Oliver was born and healthy. He came into this world on May 3. His Great G. Ma is now at peace and is his Angel in Heaven. In lieu of flowers mom would really love donations to be made to Hospice. There will be a graveside service held for Ms. Patsy at Oxford Cemetery on May 13, 2024, 2pm.
