Paramjit Singh

Our beloved Paramjit Singh passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 2:47 a.m. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, and we all adored him. He was a brave man for immigrating to the US in 1969, recently married and with an infant son. He was intelligent, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering in India and later an MBA from Temple University not long after arriving in this country. He was hard-working and dedicated, working his way up at Dixon Valve & Coupling Co. from the shop floor to Vice President of Engineering over a 30+ year career. He was kind-hearted, as he fiercely loved his family, from his wife, to his sons, to his grandchildren, to his brothers and sisters (he was #3 out of 9 children), even down to his nieces and nephews who will all attest that he was a second father to them since he loved them as if they were his own. He could be serious when necessary, but also playful and really funny with a great sense of humor. He stood as a mentor to many and loved to pass on his knowledge as a teacher of math and engineering. He stood as a pillar in his family. Paramjit enjoyed playing tennis, was a master tabla player, enjoyed reading immensely, and was a constant seeker of knowledge and wisdom. He had a magical smile and warm heart and always showed kindness and affection for those who were in his life. His wife was with him in his final moments which brings some comfort, as he was not alone and was in her loving arms. He will be greatly missed by all who had the great pleasure of knowing him. Services will be held on Friday, February 18 at 1:30 pm at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home in Chestertown.
