Pamela Michelle Edwards

Pamela (Clark) Edwards, 70, of Centreville, MD passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 30th after a well-fought battle with ALS. If a life well lived can be measured by the amount of lives you touch and the amount of love you spread, then Pam Edwards had the best life. She followed in the footsteps of her parents and built a life of service to her family and her community. You would be hard pressed to find a resident of Centreville, MD who hasn’t been blessed by knowing Pam. Pam was born on July 15, 1954 in Easton, MD to David and June (Kaufman) Clark. She grew up on the family farm with her brothers David Clark Jr. and Jeffrey Clark. After graduating from Queen Anne’s County High School in 1972, she went on to study at Chesapeake College and Salisbury University where she received her Masters in counseling. Pam was an educator for the Queen Anne’s County Public School system for 37 years at Centreville Middle School. Many of her coworkers became like family, including Frederick Edwards, whom she married on June 22, 1985 - this summer will be their 40th wedding anniversary. Pam and Fred have two daughters - Morgan and Meredith - who learned by example that the world is a better place when you help those around you. Pam never turned down an opportunity to volunteer, whether it be for Centreville Methodist Church, Meals on Wheels, Compass Hospice, Queen Anne’s County Alumni Association, and many more. Her door was always open whether you needed a place to stay, a bit of advice, or encouragement. After retiring from the school system, Pam enjoyed traveling with her husband Fred and their good friends Dan and Sandy Cannon. Pam and Fred bought a second home in Clermont, Florida where they shared friendship with many neighbors and loved living close to their Florida grandchildren, while keeping their house in Centreville near their Maryland grandchildren. Being a Gigi to her five grandchildren brought Pam so much joy and they loved spending time at Gigi’s house. After being diagnosed with ALS in 2021, Pam continued her commitment to service by starting to fundraise for ALS research and support. With the help of Pam’s Praying Pineapples, over $100,000 has been raised for the cause. Although her body began to decline, Pam remained the social butterfly hosting many friends in their new Centreville home. The amount of visitors she had is a testament to the lives that she touched and the friendships she made. The family found comfort and support in two wonderful caregivers, Lynn Beasley and Jan Dennis, who became family as they cared for Pam. Pam is survived by her husband, Fred Edwards of Centreville, her mother, June Clark of Centreville, her daughter Meredith (Michael) Kulbacki of Centreville, her daughter Morgan (Katie) Edwards of Winter Garden, FL, her grandchildren, Caleb, Madison, Clark, Maclyn, and Maia, her brother David Clark Jr. (Kellie King) of Centreville, her brother Jeffrey (Kim) Clark of Centreville, brother-in-law and sister-in-laws, and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is predeceased by her father, David Clark Sr. of Centreville. A viewing will be held at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home at 408 S. Liberty Street, Centreville, MD on Wednesday April 2nd from 6pm-8pm and her service will be at Centreville Methodist Church at 608 Church Hill Road Centreville, MD on Thursday April 3rd at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation in memory of Pam to Compass Hospice or Centreville Methodist Church.
