Norman A. Koczorowski

Norman A. Koczorowski died at home on Tilghman Island, Maryland on February 24, 2026, at the age of 95. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Michael F. Koczorowski and Jeanette Lapka Koczorowski. He attended Calvert Hall High School, graduating in 1949. He worked at DSD Motors where he met Dolores Ryniewicz. They were married on January 24, 1959, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Overlea and made their home in Baltimore and Tilghman. Norman served in the U.S. Coast Guard beginning in 1951, and in 1959 with the Baltimore City Fire Department, working on Engine 5 (Anne Street) until 1964 when he began at Fire Boat 1, Fort McHenry, piloting the Mayor J. Harold Grady, August Emrich, and the Mayor Thomas D'Alesandro Jr. He retired from the Coast Guard in 1990 and from the Fire Department in 1995. After moving to Tilghman in 1978, Norman was involved with the Tilghman Volunteer Fire Department, Baltimore City Fire Officers Local 964, the Tilghman United Methodist Church, and the St. Michaels Chapel of Sts. Peter and Paul. Norman loved boating, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his son Richard Koczorowski of Tilghman, son Kenneth Koczorowski, and wife Meg of Denton, daughter Susan Sullivan of Raleigh NC, granddaughter Sarah Goodwin of Raleigh NC and husband George, granddaughter Jeanette Koczorowski of Tilghman, grandson Michael Koczorowski of Tilghman, granddaughter Bethany Svehla of Utica, Ohio, granddaughter Erica Koczorowski of Preston, grandson Adam Koczorowski of Preston and sister in law, Mildred Svoboda of Parkville, MD, his late sister Florence Kulbicki of Baltimore and Daniel "Drake" Koczorowski of Ocala. The family will receive guests and friends at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Easton, MD on Friday, March 20th from 5pm until 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 11am at St. Michaels Mission Church, St. Michaels. Interment with military honors take place at Dulaney Valley Memorial Park, Timonium, MD at 2pm.
