Naomi May Reed

After being apart for just over 6 years, on Tuesday afternoon, October 25th, Naomi May Reed of Easton, MD reunited with her best friend and husband, Ted Reed, on the dance floor in the sky. They met in 1932 and were married in 1943. They gave a new meaning to “soul mates”. Born October 26, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Agnes Russell Geisenhoner. Naomi touched everyone she met with her generosity and enthusiasm for life. Her life was dedicated to her family, friends, and community. For her entire life she worked tirelessly to make the world a better place. She will be best remembered for her motto “Live Well, Laugh Often, and Love Much”. Her community involvement and charitable giving was appreciated by all and was recognized by the Mayor of Easton in 2004 as the “Angel on Brooklets” for her Christmas trees donated to the Senior Center for their annual fundraising bazaar. She was also named “Woman of Distinction” by the Talbot Soroptomists. She loved making flower arrangements, Christmas trees and decorations that she donated to numerous nonprofits for them to sell to support their activities. She was an Elder at the Presbyterian Church of Easton, served on the board of Upper Shore Aging, Inc., was a member of the Talbot County Women’s Club, the Talbot Country Club, the Tred Avon Yacht Club, and numerous bridge clubs. Her loving son and daughter-in law, Ted and Carla Reed, were with her when she passed from this world. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Voorhees; her brother, Henry Geisenhoner; 3 grandchildren, Todd, Heather, and Josh; and 3 great grand daughters, Mickey, Ari and Flora, all of whom she was very proud and loved with all of her heart. The world is a better place because of her time with us and she will be missed by all that knew her. Friends may call on Friday, October 28th from 5 to 7 PM at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P. A., Easton, MD. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 12:00 Noon at the Presbyterian Church of Easton, 617 N. Washington St.Easton. A “celebration of life” will follow at the Tred Avon Yacht Club, Oxford, MD. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Talbot Senior Center, 400 Brookletts Ave., Easton, MD 21601.
