Myra Wheeler Williams

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Myra Wheeler Williams, who left us peacefully on July 12, 2026, at the age of 77. A lifelong cornerstone of the Easton, Maryland community, Myra was a woman of immense warmth, sharp intellect, and an incredibly generous spirit. To those who knew and loved her best, she was affectionately known as Nana, Merna, and Mymy—names that carried with them the safety of her embrace and the joy of her laughter. Born at Cambridge Hospital on February 10, 1949, Myra was raised in Easton, where she would plant deep roots and build a beautiful life. She carried the proud distinction of being a member of the very first graduating class of Easton High School in 1967. Myra’s professional life was a testament to her determination and work ethic. She began her career serving as the head legal secretary at Goldsboro & Tolley, where her sharp mind and dedication were quickly recognized. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to serve her neighbors, she later founded and operated Colonial Title in Easton. For twelve successful years, she ran the business with integrity and grace before stepping into a well-deserved retirement. Beyond her professional achievements, Myra lived a life rich in color and simple pleasures. Her home was a sanctuary filled with the sounds of her favorite music and the enthusiastic cheers of a dedicated Baltimore Ravens fan. She loved a good shopping trip, but she found her greatest quiet comforts at home, surrounded by her adored pets. Over the years, her dogs Jet, Onyx, and Mr. Big, along with her cats Dean and Sam, were cherished members of her family. Myra was reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, George Edward Williams, whom she married on March 10, 1974. She is also preceded in death by her dear parents, and her brother, Emerson Wheeler Jr. Her legacy of love, laughter, and devotion lives on through her family. She is survived by her devoted sons, P. Bryan Williams (wife Debbie Williams) and Justin Edward Williams (fiancé Christen Gayle Wickham); and her cherished grandchildren, Zoe Elizabeth, Aaliyah Lynne, and Edward Bryan Williams, as well as her step-grandson, Caleb Preston Lynn, all of whom brought her endless pride and joy. She also leaves behind her supportive brothers, Byrd Wheeler and Wayne Wheeler, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss her presence daily. A funeral ceremony to honor and celebrate Myra's life will be held on July 23, 2026, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home in Easton, MD at 11 am. Friends and family are warmly invited to gather and offer their condolences. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the caregivers and friends who offered Myra comfort, kindness, and support during her final days.
