Michele Marie Willey

Michele Marie Willey, a native of Queenstown, Maryland, and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the age of 56. She was born on December 27, 1966 In Easton, Maryland. Michele graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School in Centreville, MD in 1984, where she was an exceptional thespian in many school plays which showed off her wicked sense of humor and comedic timing. She later graduated from AACC in Nursing where she excelled in her field. Michele’s love of life led her to become a travel nurse and dive into many sectors of the nursing profession, from ER, to Cardiac, to Neonatal ICU, to a Concierge nurse, then finally to a Charge nurse, where she oversaw other nurses and was responsible for training staff in ICU nursing. All of this would lead her to win a Daisy Award. Daisy Award recipients are registered nurses who exemplify the following values: Extraordinary Compassion, Courage, and Integrity in every situation. When not nursing, Michele focused on raising her nephew, Dalton, playing with her dogs, Maxine and Bessie, cooking, cheering on the LSU Tigers, as well as walking to raise money for ALS, which was a charity dear to her heart for it took her beloved mother, Dixie, from her. She was active in the Jacyees in MD during her younger years. Michele is preceded in death by her mother, Dixie Rada Morris, and her brother, Michael Willey. She is survived by her Pop, Carl Morris of Queenstown; two brothers, Tom Willey (Michelle) of Queenstown and Andy Morris (Queenstown); a sister, Kathleen Morris Richardson (Rich) of Raleigh, NC; nieces, Erin Willey McClelland (Jimmy) of Huntington, MD and Ashley Willey of Arnold, MD; nephews: Tyler Messick of Havre de Grace, MD, Joshua Willey of Queenstown, MD, Dalton Willey of Queenstown, MD, Carl Richardson of Raleigh, NC and Boyd Richardson of Raleigh, NC; three great-nieces and one great-nephew: Savannah, Owen, Zoey and Piper; and the love of her life, Kristine Whisnant of Baton Rouge, LA. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial for Michele Marie Willey on Sunday, June 11 at 10:30 am at Broad Creek Cemetery, 370 Romancoke Road in Stevensville, MD. The family asks for you to arrive fifteen minutes early. Words and prayers from the gathered will commence at 10:30 am. A Celebration of Life will be held after the service at 308 Hemsely Drive, Queenstown, MD from 11:30 to 1:30, where family and friends can share fond memories, stories, or keepsakes to pay tribute to Michele’s extraordinary journey though life.
