Michael Paul Luongo

Michael Paul Luongo was born November 9, 1981, at Anne Arundel Medical Center, in Annapolis, MD. Michael Paul Luongo died suddenly on Thursday, June 13, 2013, in Centreville, MD. Michael was the beloved son of R. William and Carol McGuire Luongo. He was 31 years old. Michael was married to Amanda Messix of Chestertown MD, on September 22, 2007, in Centreville, at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. They were proud parents of twin boys, Bennett Michael Luongo and Brady William Luongo , 2 ½ years of age, of Queenstown MD, who were the love of HIS life. He also leaves his beloved yellow lab, BOH. Michael also leaves his beloved sister, Laura Luongo Allen, of Oakland, CA, whom he was very close to and her husband, Nathan Allen; many aunts and uncles and extended family. Michael was a very loved man and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Michael was also the grandson of the late Dr. Thomas F. McGuire and late Helen Loftus McGuire, and late Roland Wm Luongo, SR. and the late Sylvia Luongo of Annapolis MD as well as in laws, Michael & Bonnie Messix of Chestertown, MD. Michael was a Queen Anne's County native, where he played ice hockey in Easton, MD, for ten years, from 1985 to 1995, and graduated from Gunston Day School in May of 2000. He played lacrosse fours years at Gunston and earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Admin. from Towson University, in December 2004. Michael worked for Beazer Corporation in Towson as a project manager in construction of condominiums and most recently worked for Caruso Homes in Centreville at the Symphony Village project as an assistant superintendent. Michael also worked in his father’s custom construction business during his teenage years, beginning as a mortar mixer in the summer when he was fourteen years old. Michael was an avid fisherman and local hunter; he loved being out with nature where his true spirit lived. He won the Jr. World Goose Caller Championship in Easton's Waterfowl Festival when he was 12 years-old in November 1993. Michael traveled with his family many Christmas vacations to the Caribbean and Costa Rica, where he learned to scuba dive at Little Cayman and fished extensively throughout the Caribbean. Michael loved life, his family, and most importantly, his twin boys Brady and Bennett. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a Memorial Service starting at 12 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein Funeral Home on S. Liberty St., in Centreville, MD; followed by a graveside service at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Rt. 50, Queenstown, MD.
