Michael Anthony Karousos

Michael Karousos passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2025 from an underlying medical condition while surfing, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will miss him beyond words. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a beloved son, a cherished brother, and a steady, grounding presence to all who knew him. Michael was the light of his family and the life of every gathering. Funny, goofy, and endlessly warm, he had a rare gift for lifting spirits and making people laugh, often when they needed it most. His joy was contagious, and his presence made people feel at ease, valued, and loved. Beneath his humor was an unwavering strength. He was deeply selfless and fiercely protective of those he loved. Guided by an unshakable faith, Michael lived with purpose and compassion. His faith was central to who he was. He prayed for others constantly and always hoped for the best in people. Michael led by example through his strength, humility, and selflessness. He lived his beliefs through action, always stepping in to help in any circumstance without hesitation. As a husband, Michael was a dedicated partner. He was a true provider, loyal, devoted, and unwavering in his love. As a father, he loved fiercely and completely, finding his greatest joy in being present, playful, and supportive. His family was his world, and everything he did was rooted in his desire to protect and provide for them. Michael proudly served on active duty as an officer in the United States Coast Guard, a role that reflected his deep sense of duty, courage, and commitment to protecting others. He was competitively selected to become an officer after first serving as an enlisted member of the Coast Guard, earning him the title of “Mustang”. His service was a source of great pride to his family and a testament to the honorable and selfless way he lived his life. He was proceeded by grandparents Spiros Karousos, James Donohue, and Gloria Donohue. He is survived by his beloved wife, Caitlan Karousos; his son, Andrew Karousos; and his unborn son, Michael Karousos, who will grow up hearing stories of a father whose love, faith, and laughter knew no bounds. He is also survived by his parents, Monica Karousos and Pete Karousos (Cynthia Karousos); his grandmother, Angeliki Karousos; his siblings, Angela Karousos and Spiro Karousos; his aunts, uncles, cousins; and many friends who were blessed by his endless support, loyalty, and steady heart. Michael’s passing leaves an immeasurable void, but his legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. He will be remembered for his deep faith, compassion, unwavering strength, humor, and the way he made others feel seen, safe, and valued. He will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
