Mary Patricia Marsh

Mary P. Marsh Mary Patricia O’Hara Marsh, 48, of Arnold, died at Anne Arundel Medical Center, on July 5, 2007 after suffering a stroke on July 4th. Mrs. Marsh was born on December 20, 1958, in Youngstown Ohio and was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney HS in 1977 and from Ohio University in 1981. She was an environmental consultant for EcoLogix Group working with community groups, government agencies, and corporations to bring them together to understanding and agreement on projects so that the environment is protected. Previous to this Mrs. Marsh was the President of the Maryland Conservation Council, a coalition of environmental groups, and managing editor of the Conservation Report a newsletter for coordinating legislative actions and informing legislators on critical environmental efforts in Maryland. Mrs. Marsh was an advisor for the 2007 gubernatorial transition Energy Working Group in the report for Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and has served on numerous Maryland State Advisory Committees including: the State Water Quality Advisory Committee; Shore Erosion Control Advisory Committee; Dredged Material Management Program, Citizen’s Advisory Committee; Dredged Material Management Program, Committee on Innovative Reuse of Dredge Material, and the General Development Plan Steering Committee for Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Mrs. Marsh was the AA County Council District 5 Democratic candidate in the 1998 County elections and has helped with numerous campaigns of other candidates. She was the Sierra Club Maryland State Legislative chair from 1998 to 2000 and a community activist since 1991. Mrs. Marsh was an organ donor and has helped more than four recipients with her gifts. Her survivors include her husband Steven Marsh and two adult daughters, Elizabeth Marsh and Kathryn Marsh, all of Arnold Maryland. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Cremation and Funeral Care, P.A., 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD, 21401, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2007. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maryland Conservation Council, 401 Westshire Road, Baltimore, MD 21229 or to Heifer Project International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR/USA 72202, www.heifer.org
